ERP for manufacturing. BOM to dispatch, with variance and job work reconciled as you go.
From bill of materials to dispatch, with material variance and subcontract balances reconciled as you go instead of at the quarter-end. The UAE and Saudi Arabia edition opens from December 2026.
From December 2026How does Kinnow help a manufacturer in the UAE or Saudi Arabia? The bill of materials, the work order, the material issued and the finished lot sit in one record, so the cost of a run reaches the ledger and the gap between planned and actual material shows up the week it happens. Around it sit UAE VAT and wage-file preparation, with Saudi Arabia following VAT first. Nothing is filed, paid or posted without a person.
Your business in one paragraph
A plant in Sharjah, Jebel Ali or Riyadh turns a purchase commitment into a shipped batch. Raw material arrives against a purchase order, often imported, goes to the line against a work order, some of it goes to a subcontractor and comes back, and the finished lot is costed and dispatched. The owner's worry is rarely the machine. It is the paper around it: what the BOM says, what was actually issued, what is lying with a subcontractor, and what the planner promised a customer.
Material drifts from the BOM
Actual use creeps above plan and nobody sees it until a costing review weeks later.
Material out with subcontractors
Stock at an outside processor is reconciled by hand, and the balance is nobody's number.
A whiteboard for capacity
A rush order breaks the schedule because nobody could see the load on each work centre.
Send us one BOM and one work order and we will show the variance on your own numbers.
How your month runs on Kinnow
This is demand to dispatch, with the buying and subcontract loops that sit under it. Amounts below are in dirhams for a UAE company.
| # | Step | Who | Application | Where a person signs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Order received; credit check holds it if the customer is over limit | Sales manager | Sell | Credit hold cleared by a person |
| 2 | Advisory MRP (material requirements planning) breaks the bill of materials down against stock and open orders and proposes what to make and buy | Production planner | Make | Planner confirms; nothing is released automatically |
| 3 | Requisition, purchase order, supplier qualified before release; a supplier outside the UAE is set up before the order goes out | Procurement officer | Buy | Purchase order above AED 500,000 needs approval |
| 4 | Material received; inbound QC inspection created on acceptance; failures raise an NCR | Stores, QC inspector | Stock & Ship, Make | Disposition of an NCR approved |
| 5 | Work order released; the finite-capacity board shows load per work centre | Production planner | Make | Run above 5,000 units needs approval |
| 6 | Material issued; operators start and complete operations at the terminal | Shop-floor operator | Make | Operator named on each operation |
| 7 | Subcontract: material goes out to a processor and comes back; the agent reconciles sent against consumed, scrapped, returned and still out | Stores, subcontract coordinator | Make | Short-close or write-off is a person's action |
| 8 | Work order completes; the cost of the run moves from WIP to finished goods in the ledger | Automatic | Account | Cost variance reviewed by finance |
| 9 | Scrap above the limit is flagged; write-offs go for approval | Plant head | Stock & Ship | Write-off above AED 100,000 needs approval |
| 10 | Dispatch and tax invoice; quarter-end VAT return (groundwork completed before launch); month-end close | Accounts executive, finance head | Sell, Comply, Account | Return and close signed by a person |
The ready-made setup for your industry
The ready-made setup for manufacturing (we call it an industry pack) defines 6 limits, 4 sign-off routes (who approves, in what order), 9 report codes, 13 starter questions for Ask Kinnow, 10 agents and 20 step-by-step routines. For the UAE, a country setup adds 7 limits, 6 sign-off routes, 3 VAT report codes and 13 starter questions of its own. The figures are starting values that you set, held in your own currency.
| Limit | Effect | Why it is there |
|---|---|---|
| Production run above 5,000 units | Needs approval | Commits material and machine time before anyone sees demand |
| Purchase order above AED 500,000 | Needs approval | Raw-material buying is where margin is set or lost; an import is self-accounted under reverse charge (you account for the VAT yourself), so the supplier must be right first |
| Stock write-off above AED 100,000 | Needs approval | A real loss or a stock error; for goods held in a designated zone it is also a VAT question |
| Manual journal above AED 500,000 | Needs approval | Moves the books, and the accounting profit that corporate tax starts from, without a source document |
| Scrap above 50 units on a work order | Warning | Scrap is material already paid for and thrown away |
| Credit limit above AED 1,000,000 | Warning | Credit is a decision, not data entry |
| VAT return with large net payable | Needs approval | Filing is irreversible and the money leaves |
Routines include Demand to dispatch, Buying raw material, Enquiry to confirmed order, Stock count to write-off, Stock transfer between warehouses and Obligation to filed, beside month-end close, payroll and access requests. For a Saudi company the Saudi country setup carries its own limits, for example SAR 250,000 on a purchase order and SAR 50,000 on a stock write-off.
Processes, built in
A full set of best-practice processes for your industry come switched on: who owns each step, which steps Kinnow enforces, and a clock on every hand-off between departments. Print any of them as an SOP.

Agents for Manufacturing
BOM Variance
Flags jobs where the material actually used differs from the plan by 5% or more, up or down.
MakeProduction Schedule Optimizer
Orders work orders by shortest processing time, as a suggestion for a planner to adopt.
Material shortage
Checks a work order's components against stock on hand and shows the shortfall before the order is released.
Costing variance
Compares a work order's actual cost with plan and flags material overruns beyond the band you set (10 per cent by default).
Subcontract reconciliation
Tracks material lying with each outside processor and chases balances that have not come back.
Work-centre capacity watch
Says when to open the capacity board. A load that looks comfortable while orders are unrouted is reported as unreliable, not healthy.
Stock Forecaster
Forecasts demand for the next 30, 60 and 90 days for each item and warehouse, with a suggested safety stock and reorder point. It never acts on its own.
Buy3-way match
Matches the purchase order (PO), the goods receipt and the supplier's bill line by line, and holds the bill until any difference is sorted out.
Each agent is validated with each client before it works on their books, and every output waits for a person.
Tax and compliance calendar for a manufacturer (UAE and Saudi Arabia)
Kinnow prepares; a person confirms and files. Dates are not printed because the authority sets them; Comply carries your calendar. This is what the first release covers, and it is not live today.
| Obligation | What Kinnow prepares | Who confirms |
|---|---|---|
| UAE VAT return (VAT-201), quarterly | The groundwork for a return document built from your sales and purchase records, with output tax by emirate, reverse-charge boxes and imports, completed before launch. You download it and submit it on the tax authority portal; Kinnow does not file | Finance head |
| Tax invoice with your TRN (tax registration number) | An English or Arabic tax invoice, checked for the mandatory fields before it is rendered | Accounts executive |
| Import purchases | Imported bills captured so the tax owed under reverse charge and the recoverable tax appear on the same return; landed-cost vouchers add freight, duty and clearing to stock value | Accounts executive |
| WPS salary file (the wage-protection file) | The Salary Information File for the factory payroll, produced from the approved pay run. Confirm the layout with your bank before first use | HR head |
| End-of-service gratuity | Monthly accrual of the payout owed to non-national staff when they leave, shown for finance to post. Pension contributions for UAE and GCC nationals are computed in the pay run | HR head, finance head |
| Corporate tax | A computation of tax due from the taxable income you supply, with the 0 per cent band, small business relief and the split for qualifying free-zone companies. The return itself is not built | Finance head, tax adviser |
| Saudi VAT | VAT at 15 per cent on invoices and a return builder whose row mapping is still to be checked. Saudi e-invoicing, payroll and social insurance are not in the first release | Finance head |
Tell us about a quarter of your purchases and sales and we will show you how the VAT return will be drafted.

Questions
Does Kinnow run MRP?
Yes, as advisory MRP. It breaks multi-level BOMs down against stock and open orders and proposes what to make and buy. It never creates a purchase order or work order by itself. A person releases the suggested work orders.
Does it schedule the shop automatically?
No. A finite-capacity board shows the load on each work centre, and it can show more than 100 per cent because that is the fact a planner needs. The Production Schedule Optimizer suggests a sequence for the planner to accept or change.
Can it handle subcontracting?
Dispatch and receipt are tracked per movement, and a reconciliation agent checks that sent equals consumed plus scrapped plus returned plus still out. It reports; a person decides any short-close.
How are imported raw materials handled for VAT?
A purchase from a supplier outside the UAE is self-accounted under reverse charge, so the tax owed and the tax recovered appear on the same return. The purchase order limit asks someone to check the supplier set-up before the order goes out. Customs entries are not handled in Kinnow.
Is there a shop-floor screen?
Yes. A terminal lets an operator start and complete an operation. The time is taken from the clock, not typed, and an out-of-sequence or double start is refused. It works in the phone browser; there is no offline mode or native app.
Will it file my VAT return?
No. The groundwork to build the return from your records, for a person to download and submit on the authority portal, is completed before launch. The layout is checked with an adviser before a first filing.
How long to set up?
About two weeks to first results for one company, once the edition opens in December 2026: masters, BOMs and opening stock in week one, agents and a first close in week two.
