ERP for audit & advisory. Every client's books, filings and deadlines on one review queue.
A practice sells deadlines. Kinnow keeps the practice's own books, one register of every client job, and VAT jobs waiting for a partner, with the corporate tax charge computed from the taxable income you supply, before anything is filed.
From December 2026How does Kinnow help an audit and advisory practice in the UAE and Saudi Arabia? It runs two things side by side: the practice's own books (fees, payroll, expenses) and one register of every client job with two dates on each, your internal preparation date and the filing date. The groundwork to draft the VAT work for a partner to review is completed before launch, and your team files it on the authority's portal. Nothing is filed, paid or posted without a person. This edition opens from December 2026 and is not live in the region today.
Your practice, in one paragraph.
Money comes in as fees: a monthly retainer for bookkeeping and VAT, a fee per audit or return, and the odd advisory assignment. It is billed late because a partner has to be sure the work is finished. Time goes into chasing clients for records and checking VAT line by line. Compliance is the product, with a date on every item, and many clients' dates land in the same weeks.
Three things keep the partner awake. A client has not sent records and the date is close. A VAT return went out with an input tax figure nobody checked. A letter from the authority arrived and its reply date lives only in someone's mailbox.
Two ways a client sits in Kinnow
Both can run in the same practice, client by client.
A party in your own books
Most clients start here. You bill them, and every job for them (a VAT return, an audit, an advisory piece) is a row in your job register. The client does not need to use Kinnow at all.
Their own Kinnow company
A client who runs their books on Kinnow grants your user limited access. You see the list of clients that have, switch into one, and work read-only by default. Their administrator can switch on preparer mode for you, and every action taken in it is written to their audit trail.

How your quarter runs on Kinnow
Shown for a Dubai practice that keeps books and prepares VAT for its clients. Amounts are in dirhams (AED); the same flow runs in riyals (SAR) for Saudi clients.
| Step | Who | What Kinnow does | Where a person approves |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Open the quarter's jobs | Practice manager | One job per client, obligation and period (VAT-201, the UAE VAT return; the corporate tax return; or any name you give, such as an audit report). You set the preparation date and the filing date. A person starts the run. | The manager sets the dates; nothing is dated for you. |
| 2. Chase records | Associate | The document chaser lists clients whose records are not marked received for open jobs, at 45, 21, 7 and 3 days out, and drafts one reminder per client. It sends nothing; you copy and send. | The associate sends. |
| 3. Book the quarter | Accountant | Bills and bank lines go in. Bank Reconciler pre-matches lines and shows why it made each match. Tax invoices carry the TRN (tax registration number) and are checked against the Federal Tax Authority's (FTA) mandatory invoice fields. | A manual journal over AED 500,000 waits for a second person. |
| 4. Check the VAT worksheet | Accountant | Output tax from invoices and credit notes, input tax from purchase bills, by month or quarter. Exclusions are named: a foreign-currency document, a zero-tax sale not marked as an export, a rate other than the standard 5%. | A person clears each flagged line. |
| 5. Prepare the return | Executive | The groundwork to draft the VAT-201 from the quarter's sales and purchases in the authority's box layout is completed before launch. It is a draft to review and enter on the portal. | Drafts only. |
| 6. Send for review | Executive | The job moves to Awaiting review. Whoever sent it cannot be the one who files it. | A send-back needs a written reason. |
| 7. Partner review | Partner | The partner sees the draft, the worksheet and the net VAT payable or refundable. A return with net payable over AED 1,000,000 needs sign-off before filing. | Partner approves, with the reason on record. |
| 8. File and mark filed | Executive | Your team files on the portal and marks the job filed. Kinnow stamps the filed date itself; nobody types it. | Filing is a person's act. |
| 9. Bill the client | Partner, accountant | The fee goes on the job. A write-down beyond your limit (10% of the fee is the starting figure; you set it) goes to a second person with a reason. The invoice is raised through Sales. | An invoice over AED 500,000 needs approval. |
| 10. Close your own month | Accounts head | Month-end checks run on the practice's books and the Close Checklist agent pre-fills them. | The close is confirmed by a person. |

The filing calendar, quarterly to annual
The calendar is a working aid. Dates move by notification, so the partner checks the date the authority has notified. Saudi Arabia comes after the UAE in the same release, VAT first.
| Obligation | When it falls | What Kinnow prepares |
|---|---|---|
| UAE VAT-201 | Quarterly; the calendar sets the due date 28 days after quarter-end | The groundwork for a draft return in the FTA box layout from the quarter's invoices and purchase bills, plus the worksheet to check it against, completed before launch |
| UAE corporate tax return | Annual; 9 months after year-end, so 30 September for a calendar-year company | Tax calculated from the taxable income your accountant supplies: 0% up to AED 375,000, 9% above, with Small Business Relief (for small companies) and the Qualifying Free Zone Person path (for free-zone companies on qualifying income). The return file follows the portal layout |
| UAE salary files and gratuity | Monthly, with the pay run | The salary file your bank needs for the Wage Protection System (WPS), the end-of-service gratuity staff are owed on leaving (set aside each month), and pension contributions for nationals. For the practice's own staff and for clients on their own Kinnow company |
| Saudi VAT return | Monthly above SAR 40 million of annual taxable supplies, otherwise quarterly; due the last day of the following month | The same worksheet, in riyals. The return layout is not yet checked against the authority's current specification |
What the partner sees, and what the client sees
The register separates three kinds of late: waiting on the client, waiting on your team, and past the filing date. Prepared and filed times are stamped by Kinnow, never typed, so a turnaround figure can be quoted.
The partner
The list of clients that have granted you access, each marked read-only or preparer mode. The job register across every client: status, assignee, both dates, whether each job is late and whose clock it is on. Jobs waiting for review. Deadline load by person and by client. Ask Kinnow over all of it.
The client
A portal that carries your brand. The client signs in with a code sent to their email and sees the invoices you raised, with PDFs, and what is outstanding. They can raise a dispute on an invoice. Engagement letters go out through Kinnow Sign, our e-signature.
| Client | Obligation | Filing date | Status | Clock |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Al Noor Trading LLC, Dubai | VAT-201, Q3 | 28 Oct | Awaiting client | Client |
| Marina Foods FZE, Sharjah | VAT-201, Q3 | 28 Oct | In preparation | Your team |
| Gulf Crest Logistics, Abu Dhabi | Corporate tax return, 2025 | 30 Sep | Awaiting review | Partner |

The ready-made setup for your industry
Kinnow comes with a ready-made setup for your industry (we call it an industry pack). For a practice it brings the engagement-to-filing and month-end close routines, thirteen starter questions for Ask Kinnow, nine reports including the engagement register and engagements by status, and four sign-off routes (who approves, in what order): return sign-off, journal, invoice and engagement letter. The UAE country setup adds its own VAT reports and starter questions. The figures below are starting figures in the company's own currency, read here as dirhams. Set them to whatever a reviewer in your firm would want to see.
| Limit | Starting figure | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| VAT return sign-off | Net payable over AED 1,000,000 | Approval before filing, never the preparer |
| Manual journal | Over AED 500,000 | Approval |
| Engagement letter (sales order) | Over AED 500,000 | Approval, since a big client in the busy season decides what the team can take on |
| Invoice | Over AED 500,000 | Approval |
| Purchase order | Over AED 500,000 | Approval, because a supplier outside the UAE is accounted for under reverse charge (you account for the VAT yourself) |
| Client credit limit | Over AED 1,000,000 | Warning only |
Agents for an audit and advisory practice
Filing Prep
Builds the sales-tax return file from your books and lists every document it left out, with the reason, for a person to clear before filing.
Filing deadline tracker
Walks the VAT and corporate tax calendar and raises a task when a date is close.
Client document chaser
Lists clients whose records are outstanding before a filing date and drafts one reminder each. Sends nothing.
Close Checklist
Runs the twelve period-close checks, helps clear the ones holding up the close and drafts the commentary on variances. A person confirms the close.
AccountBank Reconciler
Matches bank lines to receipts ahead of time and shows why it matched each one. Lines it is unsure about come up as suggestions only and are never committed on their own.
AccountDouble-entry Validator
Stops any journal entry that does not balance, or that uses a ledger that is not valid, before it can be posted.
Every agent is validated with each client before it works on their books, and every output waits for a person.
Ask Kinnow, for a practice
| Ask | The answer is built from |
|---|---|
| Which client filings are due this week? | Your job register and the filing calendar |
| Which client jobs are late? | The engagement register, with whose clock it is on |
| How much of our work is waiting on clients? | Engagements by status |
| What is my net VAT position this quarter? | The VAT sales register |
| Which supplier invoices are missing a TRN? | The VAT purchase register |
| Which sales were zero-rated or exempt? | The VAT rate summary |
Each answer names its source and what it will cost before it runs. Bank, tax and ID numbers are held back by Veil, our privacy layer before any AI call; today that covers Ask Kinnow and most agents.

Questions
Can I see all my clients in one place?
Yes, in two views. The job register lists every client job with its status, owner, dates and whether it is late. The client list shows the clients who have granted your user access to their own Kinnow company, marked read-only or preparer mode.
Does Kinnow file VAT returns automatically?
No. It reconciles; the groundwork to draft a return and a worksheet to check it against is completed before launch; your team files on the portal and marks the job filed, after a second person has reviewed it.
Do you cover corporate tax?
As a calculation and a return file, from the taxable income your accountant supplies, with the Small Business Relief and Qualifying Free Zone Person paths. It does not derive the adjustments from the books. We check the return layout with the first clients before it is used.
Can my clients stay on their current accounting software?
Yes during the move. Your data comes across with a trial balance that must agree with your old figures before Kinnow accepts it, and clients can move one application at a time. Clients who are only a party in your books need nothing from their side.
How long does set-up take?
About two weeks to first results for one practice.
Who can change a client's books?
Nobody by default. Access is read-only until the client's administrator switches on preparer mode for a named person, and each action taken in it is logged on the client's side.
What happens when an agent gets it wrong?
Each agent hands back a draft with its reasons shown, and a person approves before anything is filed, paid or posted. Agents are validated with each client first, and you can send any job back with a reason.
