Is Kinnow ready for India today?

Yes. India is in use today. The government portal links run on test connections until your credentials are connected.

How does Kinnow handle Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023?

Kinnow applies the consent, retention and erasure rules for you. When someone asks to be erased, their data goes from files, search and AI memory too, while the financial records the law makes you keep stay in place.

Does Kinnow file my GST return?

No. Kinnow prepares GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B from your books and writes the file. A person reviews it, uploads it on the GST portal and pays the tax. A live link through a GST provider is being piloted, not switched on. Nothing is filed, paid or posted without a person.

Are e-invoice and e-Way bill connected to the government portal?

Kinnow builds the IRN request and the e-Way bill, and the portal links are set up as test connections. They become real once your portal credentials are connected. Until then, treat the numbers shown as test results and confirm the live position with us before you rely on them.

Who can see payroll statutory reports?

The PF, ESI, professional tax, Form 24Q and Form 16 reports cover the whole company's pay, so only people with HR management rights can open them.

What "in use today" means for the government portals

Kinnow builds the e-invoice request, the e-Way bill and the GST return file. The connection that sends an e-invoice or e-Way bill to the government portal, and the one that would file a return, are set up as test connections. They switch to a real connection only after your own portal credentials are in place and a GST provider is onboarded; that last step is being piloted with customers, not switched on for everyone. Until then you upload the return file yourself and treat the IRN and e-Way bill numbers on screen as test results. Kinnow never files a return for you.

How a return gets prepared

GSTR-3B is the example. Kinnow prepares and exports; people approve, and a person files. Nothing is filed, paid or posted without a person.

StepWhoWhat Kinnow doesWhere a person approves
1. Approve the month's documentsAccounts teamSales invoices and purchase bills are approved in Sell and Buy. Kinnow marks the month as needing a fresh GST summary. Each invoice and bill has its own approval.
2. Refresh the monthAccounts executiveAdds up output tax and input credit for the company and month. A month nobody refreshed shows blank, never zero. The person pressing refresh is recorded.
3. Match against GSTR-2BAccounts executiveCompares your purchase register with GSTR-2B and lists matches, partial matches and gaps. Mismatch Detector flags them. Each gap is cleared or explained by a person.
4. Prepare the returnAccounts executiveBuilds GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B from the books and checks that 3B ties to 1 and to the matched credit. Filing Prep lists what still needs a person. The preparer submits it for review.
5. ReviewTax lead or finance headShows the figures, the open mismatches and the reason for each change. The reviewer approves or sends it back, with a reason.
6. Export and uploadTax lead or CAWrites the return file in the portal format.A person uploads it on the GST portal and pays the tax.
7. Record the filingTax leadStores the acknowledgement number against the return. Kinnow refuses to record a GSTR-1 or GSTR-3B as filed until a complete GSTR-2B check exists for that month.A person records it.

Ask for a walk through these seven steps on one of your own months.

What your adviser still does

  • Confirms the notified due date, the rate and the limit that apply to you, and which return you must file.
  • Reviews and approves the figures, then uploads the return and pays the tax on the government portal.
  • Decides reverse charge, blocked credit and other judgement calls. Kinnow flags a bill by supplier name for a person to look at; it does not decide.
  • Replies to notices. The notice register only keeps the reference and the reply-by clock.
  • Prepares income tax returns, tax audit reports and company law filings, which Kinnow does not prepare.
