Questions
Does Kinnow support VAT in Saudi Arabia?
Saudi Arabia arrives from December 2026, VAT first. ZATCA e-invoicing is planned after launch. Saudi payroll (GOSI, Mudad, WPS, end-of-service) is not part of the first release.
Is Kinnow ready for Saudi Arabia today?
Saudi VAT comes first, from December 2026. Talk to us if you want to be an early customer in Saudi Arabia.
How does Kinnow handle Saudi PDPL?
Kinnow applies the consent, retention and erasure rules for you. When someone asks to be erased, their data goes from files, search and AI memory too, while the financial records the law makes you keep stay in place.
Will Kinnow submit my VAT return to ZATCA?
No. The groundwork to prepare the return and write the file is completed before launch. A person reviews it, submits it on the portal and pays. Nothing is filed, paid or posted without a person.
Do I need ZATCA e-invoicing from day one on Kinnow?
It is planned after launch, so ask us about your own deadline before you commit. Your company needs its own certificate from ZATCA, and that onboarding is done by you with ZATCA.
Can I run Saudi payroll on Kinnow?
Not in the first release. Keep payroll where it is for now. GOSI, Mudad, WPS and end-of-service are not built.
What Kinnow prepares for you
The Saudi edition arrives from December 2026, VAT first.
| Area | What Kinnow prepares | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Indirect tax (VAT) | The groundwork for the Saudi VAT return, built from your sales and purchase books as a file for you to submit on the tax authority portal, is completed before launch. Imports are shown on their own row. Your VAT number is checked on invoices and parties. | From December 2026, first |
| E-invoicing (ZATCA) | Invoices carry your VAT number and Arabic text. ZATCA clearance, which needs a certificate issued to your company, is planned after launch. Until then an invoice built for clearance is marked unsigned and is not a tax invoice for ZATCA. | Planned after launch |
| Payroll statutory | GOSI, Mudad, WPS and end-of-service are not part of the first release. | Not built |
| Data protection | Consent records for marketing and erasure on request under the Saudi PDPL, with records the law makes you keep held back. | From December 2026 |
| Registrations and calendar | VAT return dates on your calendar once your annual taxable supplies are recorded, because that figure decides monthly or quarterly filing. | From December 2026 |
Tell us about your quarter and we will show how the Saudi VAT return will be built.
A year of filings
Kinnow tracks VAT return dates once it knows your filing frequency.
| What | How often | What Kinnow does | Who |
|---|---|---|---|
| VAT return | Monthly or quarterly, depending on your annual taxable supplies | Groundwork to build the return file is completed before launch; the calendar needs your taxable supplies recorded first | Accountant prepares, finance head reviews |
| ZATCA clearance | Per invoice, once available | Planned after launch | Not in the first release |
Your adviser confirms the notified date for each return. Dates, rates and limits change.
How a return will be prepared
The VAT return is the example of how it will work once the groundwork is completed before launch. People approve every step. Nothing is filed, paid or posted without a person.
| Step | Who | What Kinnow does | Where a person approves |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Record your taxable supplies | Finance head | Stores the annual figure that decides monthly or quarterly returns. Kinnow will not guess it. | The finance head enters and confirms it. |
| 2. Approve documents | Accounts team | Sales invoices and purchase bills are approved with VAT treatment, VAT number and Arabic text. | Each document has its own approval. |
| 3. Prepare the return | Accountant | Fills the return rows from the books: standard-rated, zero-rated, exempt, imports (separate row), input tax. | The preparer submits it for review. |
| 4. Review | Finance head | Shows the figures behind each row. | The reviewer approves or sends it back, with a reason. |
| 5. Export | Accountant | Writes the return file. | A person submits it on the tax authority portal and pays. |

What your adviser still does
- Confirms the notified date, the rate and the treatment of each supply.
- Checks the row layout against the current return before the first real filing.
- Reviews the return, submits it on the portal and pays the tax.
- Handles ZATCA onboarding for your company, including the certificate.
