InvoiceNow (Peppol)

Short answer

What is InvoiceNow? Singapore's national e-invoicing network, built on the Peppol standard. It lets one business send an invoice straight into another business's software.

In plain words

think of a postal network for invoices. Instead of emailing a PDF that your customer's accounts clerk types in again, your software sends a structured invoice through an access point, a certified sender, to your customer's access point and into their software.

Peppol is the international standard the network uses. InvoiceNow is the name of the Singapore network, run by IMDA.

A worked example

Example
LineAmount
Packaging film, 40 rollsS$2,240.00
Cartons, 600S$1,080.00
GST at 9 per cent (S$3,320 x 9%)S$298.80
Invoice totalS$3,618.80

Sent as a PDF, the buyer re-keys these lines. Sent over InvoiceNow, the lines arrive in the buyer's software as data. The invoice is addressed by the buyer's UEN, the business registration number. Check the current GST rate with IRAS.

Why it matters

  • Cost. No re-keying means fewer typing mistakes and fewer queries about what was billed.
  • Deadline. Who must use InvoiceNow, and from when, is set by the Singapore authorities and has changed over time. Ask your adviser where you stand.
  • Risk. Once the buyer's access point has taken delivery, you cannot cancel the invoice. The fix is a credit note.

How Kinnow handles it

The Singapore edition is from December 2026, and basic support is in place.

  • Where it starts. You raise the invoice in Sell. The Singapore connection addresses it to the buyer by UEN and hands it to the access point.
  • The connection. Today the sending runs against a test connection. A certified access point is not yet connected, and we complete that step together with early-access customers.
  • After delivery. A correction is a credit note, as on any Peppol network. InvoiceNow invoices do not carry a QR code.

The honest limit. Until the certified access point is connected, Kinnow does not send live invoices over InvoiceNow. Talk to us if Singapore is your first market.

Questions

Is InvoiceNow the same as e-invoicing in India?

No. In India each invoice is registered with a government portal that returns an IRN. InvoiceNow delivers the invoice between the two businesses' software through access points.

Do I have to use InvoiceNow?

That depends on your business and on rules the Singapore authorities have changed over time. Ask your adviser or check with IRAS and IMDA for your case.

Can Kinnow send InvoiceNow invoices today?

Not live. The Singapore edition is from December 2026. Basic support is in place against a test connection, and we connect a certified access point with early-access customers.
