A till that spots suspiciously perfect drawers
Counter sales with split payments, and checks that spot cash-drawer patterns across shifts.
Live in partWhat does Till + Drawer Watch agent do? Spot cash going missing by pattern, not luck: a till that drifts one way, a cashier short across tills, a drawer that is always exactly right.
How it works
Kinnow works out every total centrally, not the till itself. Payments must cover the whole bill, and any shortfall is named. When a shift closes, the cash difference is recorded even if it is zero. Daily totals add up overs and shorts instead of letting them cancel out. Kinnow flags a till that keeps drifting one way, a cashier who is short across several tills, and a drawer that is always exactly right.
A till 500 over and another 500 short are reported as 1,000 of difference, not a clean zero.
Step by step
- The cashier opens a shift on a till. Every sale from then on belongs to that shift.
- Sales are totalled by Kinnow, not by the till. Payments can be split across cash, card, UPI, vouchers, wallet or credit. They must cover the whole bill, and a shortfall is named.
- The cashier counts the drawer at close. Kinnow compares the count with what the drawer should hold. The difference is recorded even when it is zero, and it never blocks the close.
- Drawer Watch reads closed shifts for a pattern. One short drawer means little. It looks for a till that keeps drifting the same way, a cashier who is short across different tills, and a drawer that is always exactly right.
- The manager closes the day. The Close the day check lays each till's takings against the cash counted, and against the card machine and UPI totals you type in. The check changes nothing. A manager signs off any shortage.
- A cash-limit alert watches open drawers. If an open drawer holds more cash than the limit you set, you are told. If you have not set a limit, it says so instead of showing all clear.

Who uses it
- Cashiers: sell, take split payments, count the drawer at close.
- Store or shift manager: signs off shortages and reads the day check each evening.
- Owner or finance head: watches the patterns across weeks, not single shifts.

Questions
What is Till + Drawer Watch agent in Kinnow?
Counter sales with split payments, and checks that spot cash-drawer patterns across shifts.
What changes for the business?
Spot cash going missing by pattern, not luck: a till that drifts one way, a cashier short across tills, a drawer that is always exactly right.
Is it available today?
It is live in part: the core is built and parts are completing with early customers.
Why flag a drawer that is always exactly right?
Real counting produces small differences both ways. A record that is perfect every time is more often a drawer being balanced to the expected figure than a drawer being counted.
Will every small shortage raise an alert?
No. A single short drawer is treated as noise. Drawer Watch looks at five or more counted shifts so you review patterns, not pennies.
