ERP for manufacturing. BOM to dispatch, with variance and job work reconciled as you go.

From bill of materials to dispatch, with variance and subcontracted work reconciled as you go instead of at the quarter-end.

From December 2026
Short answer

How does Kinnow help a manufacturer? The bill of materials, the work order, the material issued and the finished lot sit in one record, so the cost of a run reaches the ledger and the gap between planned and actual material shows up the week it happens, not at the costing review. Nothing is filed, paid or posted without a person.

Singapore edition, from December 2026. Nothing on this page is live in Singapore today. The ready-made setup for Manufacturing (we call it an industry pack) is already built into the product. We apply it with you when the edition opens.

Your business in one paragraph

A plant turns a purchase commitment into a shipped batch. Material comes in against a purchase order, goes out to the line against a work order, some of it goes to a subcontractor and comes back, and the finished lot is costed and dispatched, often to a customer abroad. The owner's worry is rarely the machine; it is the paper around it: what the BOM says, what was actually issued, what is lying with a subcontractor, and what the planner promised a customer. Three things keep a plant owner awake.

Material drifts from the BOM

Actual use creeps above plan and nobody sees it until a costing review weeks later.

Material out with subcontractors

Delivery orders and returns are reconciled by hand, and the stock at the subcontractor is nobody's number.

A whiteboard for capacity

A rush order breaks the schedule because nobody could see the load on each work centre.

Send us one BOM and one work order and we will show the variance on your own numbers.

How your month runs on Kinnow

This is demand to dispatch, with the buying and subcontracting loops that sit under it.

What the industry setup puts in place

The Manufacturing setup is built into the product: 6 safeguards, 4 sign-off routes, 9 report codes, 13 Ask Kinnow starters, 10 agents and 20 step-by-step routines. The figures are starting values you change, set in Singapore dollars and your own units with you in the first week.

LimitEffectWhy it is there
Production run over your quantity limitNeeds approvalCommits material and machine time before anyone sees demand
Purchase order over your limitNeeds approvalRaw-material buying is where margin is set or lost
Stock write-off over your limitNeeds approvalEither a real loss or a stock error; both need a name against them
Manual journal over your limitNeeds approvalMoves the books without a source document
Scrap over your unit limit on a work orderWarningScrap is material already paid for and thrown away
Credit limit over your limitWarningCredit is a decision, not data entry

Ready-made routines include Demand to dispatch, Buying raw material, Enquiry to confirmed order, Stock count to write-off, Stock transfer between warehouses and Obligation to filed.

Agents for manufacturing

Build / Make

BOM Variance

Flags jobs where the material actually used differs from the plan by 5% or more, up or down.

Helps: Production planner
Make

Production Schedule Optimizer

Orders work orders by shortest processing time, as a suggestion for a planner to adopt.

Helps: Production planner
Make

Material shortage

Checks a work order's components against stock on hand and shows the shortfall before the order is released.

Make

Costing variance

Compares a work order's actual cost with plan and flags material overruns beyond the band you set (10 per cent by default).

Make

Subcontract reconciliation

Tracks material lying with each subcontractor and checks that sent equals consumed plus scrapped plus returned plus still out.

Make

Work-centre capacity watch

Says when to open the capacity board. A load that looks comfortable while orders are unrouted is reported as unreliable, not healthy.

Stock

Stock Forecaster

Forecasts demand for the next 30, 60 and 90 days for each item and warehouse, with a suggested safety stock and reorder point. It never acts on its own.

Helps: MIS / data analyst
Buy

3-way match

Matches the purchase order (PO), the goods receipt and the supplier's bill line by line, and holds the bill until any difference is sorted out.

Helps: Accounts executive

Every agent is validated with each client before it works on their books, and every output waits for a person. Also in the setup: a reject-rate watch, a cycle-count prioritiser and a maintenance-prediction agent.

Ask us to walk a work order from BOM to finished lot on your own item.

Statutory and compliance calendar for a manufacturer (Singapore)

Kinnow prepares; a person confirms and files. Dates are not printed here because the authorities set and change them.

ObligationWhat Kinnow preparesWhat stays with you
GST F5 return (quarterly)Boxes 1 to 8 of the F5 for the quarter, from the sales invoices, credit notes and purchase bills in your books; a credit note reverses its line. Kinnow prices each line at 9 per cent, zero-rates a customer outside Singapore and carries a short exempt list. The calendar puts each return one month after its quarter ends, from the accounting cycle IRAS (Singapore's tax authority) gave you; it refuses to guess the cycle.A person reviews every box and files through the IRAS portal with their own CorpPass (the government login for businesses) login. Kinnow does not submit it. A Singapore adviser checks the box layout against the current IRAS form before the first filing.
Tax invoicesThe Singapore country setup holds the checks for a tax invoice: a valid GST registration number or UEN (company registration number), date, serial number, the GST amount, and the words Tax Invoice on a full tax invoice (a simplified invoice is allowed up to S$1,000 including GST). A reverse-charge supply that also charges GST is refused. The finance lead decides which invoices are simplified and which supplies are reverse-charge.
InvoiceNow (e-invoicing)An invoice to another business is marked to go through InvoiceNow, Singapore's national e-invoicing network. Kinnow builds the invoice file in the Peppol format that InvoiceNow uses, addressed by UEN (the company registration number), and refuses one with no supplier UEN. It runs against a test connection only: nothing reaches the network.Connecting a certified access point (an approved sender on the InvoiceNow network) is a commercial step with a provider. Once delivered, an invoice cannot be cancelled; a credit note corrects it.
CPF and the Skills Development Levy (monthly)Payroll works out CPF (the Central Provident Fund contributions) by age band, on the ordinary-wage ceiling, and the employer's Skills Development Levy, on each payslip. It needs a recorded date of birth and citizen or permanent-resident status, and lists anyone it had to skip. It withholds no income tax: Singapore has no PAYE for citizens and permanent residents.Payment and submission to the CPF Board happen outside Kinnow. IR8A, IR8S, Appendix 8A (the yearly employee pay statements) and the monthly CPF submission are named in the Singapore setup as filings; Kinnow does not prepare or submit them.
Work pass quota (if you hire foreign workers)Tracked as a registration with a monthly review date. The quota is a ratio against local headcount, not a filing. The HR head owns the numbers. The foreign worker levy is not built.
ACRA annual return, AGM, estimated chargeable income, corporate tax returnTracked as registrations on your company, each with the due date Kinnow works out and a lead time before it. The AGM and the annual return are two items, because they run on two clocks. The company secretary and finance head confirm every date against ACRA (the company registrar) and IRAS, and file.

What the owner sees

Questions that come with the setup, typed into Ask Kinnow. Each answer shows its source and what it will cost before it runs. Veil, our privacy layer, holds back bank, tax and ID numbers and swaps names for placeholders before an AI call. It covers Ask Kinnow and most agents today; the rest are being added.

Questions

Does Kinnow run MRP?

Yes, as advisory MRP. It breaks multi-level BOMs down against stock and open orders and proposes what to make and buy. It never creates a purchase order or work order by itself. The Production Planner turns the make recommendations into suggested work orders, and a person releases them.

Does it schedule the shop automatically?

No. There is a capacity board that shows the load on each work centre, and it can show more than 100 per cent, because that is the fact a planner needs. The Production Schedule Optimizer suggests a sequence of work orders, shortest processing time first, for the planner to accept or change.

Can it handle subcontracting?

Yes. Dispatch and receipt are tracked per delivery order, and a reconciliation agent checks that sent equals consumed plus scrapped plus returned plus still out.

What stops a BOM from referring to itself?

A BOM that would loop back on itself, or run deeper than 10 levels, is refused when you save it. A separate check-a-BOM screen is not offered; the check happens at save.

Is there a shop-floor screen?

Yes. A terminal lets an operator start and complete an operation. The time is taken from the clock, not typed, and an out-of-sequence or double start is refused with the step that is blocking. It runs in the browser, including the phone browser; there is no native app or offline mode.

How do rejects reach the supplier?

An inbound inspection is created when goods are accepted above your limit. A failed lot raises a non-conformance report with severity and a decision on what happens to it (rework, scrap, use as is, return to vendor), and the supplier's pass rate is rolled up on a scorecard that purchasing sees when choosing a vendor.

How long to set up?

About two weeks to first results for one company, counted from when your Singapore edition is switched on in December 2026: masters and opening balances in the first week, agents switched on and a first close in the second.
