ERP for accounting firm. Every client's books, filings and deadlines on one review queue.
A practice sells deadlines. Kinnow keeps the practice's own books, one register of every client job with two dates on each, and the GST and year-end work prepared and waiting for a partner before anything is filed.
From December 2026How does Kinnow help an accounting firm? It runs two things side by side: the firm's own books (fees, payroll, expenses) and one register of every client job, with your internal preparation date and the statutory filing date on each. The groundwork to draft the GST F5 (the quarterly GST return) for a partner to review is completed before launch, and your team files it through the IRAS portal (IRAS is Singapore's tax authority). Nothing is filed, paid or posted without a person.
Singapore edition, from December 2026. Nothing on this page is live in Singapore today. The ready-made setup for accounting firm (we call it an industry pack) is already built into the product. We apply it with you when the edition opens. This is a narrow first release for a Singapore firm; the limits are listed below.
Your firm, in one paragraph.
Money comes in as fees: a retainer for bookkeeping and GST, a fee per year-end engagement, and the odd advisory job. It is billed late because a partner has to be sure the work is finished. Time goes into chasing clients for records. Compliance is the product, with a statutory date on every item. Each client's GST quarters end in the months IRAS assigned it, so F5 work arrives in three overlapping rhythms, with year-end work on top.
Three things keep the partner awake. A client has not sent records and the date is close. A return was filed over input tax nobody checked. An AGM and an annual return were treated as one job when they are two, with two clocks.
Two ways a client sits in Kinnow
Both can run in the same firm, client by client.
A party in your own books
Most clients start here. You bill them, and every job for them (a GST return, a year-end engagement, an advisory piece) is a row in your job register. The client does not need to use Kinnow at all.
Their own Kinnow company
A client who runs their books on Kinnow gives your user limited access. You see a list of the clients that have, switch into one, and work read-only by default. Their administrator can switch on preparer mode for you, and every action taken in it is written to their audit trail.
See a quarter of your own client list on Kinnow, with each client's accounting cycle on it.

| Step | Who | What Kinnow does | Where a person approves |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Open the period's jobs | Practice manager | A recurring schedule opens one job per client, obligation and period (GST F5, estimated chargeable income, or any name you give). You set the preparation and filing dates. A person starts the run. | The manager sets the dates; nothing is dated for you. |
| 2. Chase records | Associate | The document chaser lists clients whose records are not marked received for open jobs, at 45, 21, 7 and 3 days out, and drafts one reminder per client. It sends nothing; you copy and send. | The associate sends. |
| 3. Book the period | Accountant | Bills and bank lines go in. Bank Reconciler pre-matches lines and shows why it matched each one; the AI Invoice Extractor reads bill PDFs into fields. | A manual journal over your limit waits for a second person. |
| 4. Price the GST | Accountant | Each line is priced at the standard rate, zero-rated for a customer outside Singapore, or marked exempt from the short list. A reverse-charge supply that also charges GST is refused. | The accountant corrects what is refused. |
| 5. Prepare the return | Executive | For a client on Kinnow, the groundwork to draft the F5 from the quarter's invoices, credit notes and bills is completed before launch. For a client who is only a party in your books, the F5 stays a tracked job with its two dates. | Drafts only. |
| 6. Partner review | Partner | The job moves to Awaiting review; whoever sent it cannot be the one who files it. The partner sees the draft and the net GST. A return with net payable over your limit needs partner sign-off. | Partner approves, or sends back with a written reason. |
| 7. File and mark filed | Executive | Your team files through the IRAS portal with the client's CorpPass (the government login for businesses) authority and marks the job filed. Kinnow stamps the filed date itself; nobody types it. | Filing is a person's act. |
| 8. Bill the client | Partner, accountant | The fee goes on the job. A write-down beyond your limit (10 per cent of the fee is the starting figure) goes to a second person with a reason. The invoice is raised through Sales. | An invoice over your limit needs approval. |
| 9. Close your own month | Accounts head | Twelve month-end checks run and seven must pass. | The close is confirmed by a person. |
Ask us to set up your first ten client jobs and run one of them end to end.
The filing calendar, quarterly to annual
Alerts go out 15, 7 and 1 day before each filing on the calendar. Statutory dates move, so the partner checks them with IRAS or ACRA (the company registrar); the calendar is a working aid.
| Obligation | When it falls | What Kinnow prepares |
|---|---|---|
| GST F5 | Quarterly, one month after the quarter ends. The quarter ends in the months of the client's IRAS accounting cycle | Groundwork for boxes 1 to 8 as a draft for review, completed before launch. The calendar needs the cycle for each business and refuses to guess it |
| Estimated chargeable income; corporate tax return | Dates you set per client | Tracked as jobs with both dates. Kinnow does not prepare them |
| ACRA annual return and AGM | Dates you set per client | Two separate jobs, because the AGM comes first and the return depends on it. Not prepared |
| Employer returns for a client (IR8A and related) | Annual | Named in the Singapore payroll setup as filings, not prepared. Track them as jobs |
| Your own company's filings | Worked from your year end | Tracked as registrations on your own company, with a lead time before each |
What the partner sees, and what the client sees
The register separates three kinds of late: waiting on the client, waiting on your team, and past the statutory date. Prepared and filed times are stamped by Kinnow, never typed, so a turnaround figure can be quoted.
The partner
The list of clients that have granted you access, each marked read-only or preparer mode. The job register across every client: status, assignee, both dates, whether each job is late and whose clock it is on. Jobs waiting for review, and deadline load by person and by client.
The client
A portal that carries your brand. The client signs in with a code sent to their email, sees the invoices you raised and what is outstanding, and can dispute one. Engagement letters go out through Kinnow Sign, our e-signature, and working papers are shared as Documents (Vault) links that name who may open them, count every open and can be revoked.
Walk through the partner view with your own client list.
What the accounting firm setup puts in place
Four sign-off routes come with it (return sign-off, journal, invoice and engagement letter), with seventeen processes and thirteen Ask Kinnow starters. Every limit below is set in Singapore dollars with you in the first week.
| Limit | Effect | Why it is there |
|---|---|---|
| Return sign-off, net payable over your limit | Partner approval, never the preparer | A return with a large amount payable is signed by the partner |
| Manual journal over your limit | Approval | It moves the books without a source document |
| Engagement letter over your limit | Approval | A big client in the busy season decides what the team can take on |
| Invoice over your limit | Approval | Large fees are checked before they go out |
| Client credit limit over your limit | Warning only | Credit is a decision, not data entry |
The industry setup also stops you closing a client period while an India-specific return is unprepared. Those three blocks do not carry over; Singapore close blocks are set with you. Reports from day one are the trial balance, profit and loss, engagement register and engagements by status; the setup's other five are written around India's GST registers and are checked against Singapore fields before they are switched on.
Agents for an accounting firm
Filing Prep
Builds the sales-tax return file from your books and lists every document it left out, with the reason, for a person to clear before filing.
ComplyMismatch Detector
Finds mismatches between your returns and your ledger, and in supplier tax data, and flags them for a person before a return is filed.
Client document chaser
Lists clients whose records are outstanding before a filing date and drafts one reminder each. Sends nothing.
Filing deadline tracker
Sweeps the compliance calendar for filings coming due and raises a task, so a date nobody owns shows up.
Close Checklist
Runs the twelve period-close checks, helps clear the ones holding up the close and drafts the commentary on variances. A person confirms the close.
AccountBank Reconciler
Matches bank lines to receipts ahead of time and shows why it matched each one. Lines it is unsure about come up as suggestions only and are never committed on their own.
Every agent is validated with each client before it works on their books, and every output waits for a person.
Ask Kinnow, for a firm
| Ask | The answer is built from |
|---|---|
| Which client filings are due this week? | Your job register and the filing calendar |
| Which client jobs are late? | The engagement register, with whose clock it is on |
| How much of our work is waiting on clients? | Engagements by status |
| What is the trial balance for our own books? | The trial balance |
| How did the firm do this year? | The profit and loss |
Each answer shows its source and what it will cost before it runs. Veil, our privacy layer, holds back bank, tax and ID numbers and swaps names for placeholders before an AI call. It covers Ask Kinnow and most agents today; the rest are being added.

Questions
Can I see all my clients in one place?
Yes, in two views. The job register lists every client job with its status, owner, dates and whether it is late. The client list shows the clients who have granted your user access to their own Kinnow company, marked read-only or preparer mode.
Does Kinnow file GST returns?
No. The groundwork to draft the F5 is in place and is completed before launch; your team reviews and files it through the IRAS portal. A Singapore adviser checks the box layout against the current IRAS form before the first filing.
Can my clients stay on their current accounting software?
Yes during the move. Data comes across with a trial balance that must tie before a load is accepted, and clients can move one application at a time. Clients who are only a party in your books need nothing from their side.
How long does set-up take?
About two weeks to first results for one company, counted from when your Singapore edition is switched on in December 2026: masters and opening balances in the first week, agents switched on and a first close in the second.
What happens when an agent gets it wrong?
Each agent hands back a draft with its reasons shown, and a person approves before anything is filed, paid or posted. Agents are validated with each client first, and you can send any job back with a reason.
Do you cover corporate tax and ACRA work?
Not as prepared returns. You can track estimated chargeable income, corporate tax and annual-return jobs in the same register with your own dates, and bill them through the same fee flow.
Does it work on a phone?
It works in the phone browser. There is no separate mobile app.
