Retail & POS · Singapore

ERP for retail & pos. Counter, cash drawer and back office on one product.

Every sale, every drawer and every dollar of the day's takings on one set of books, checked before the shop shuts.

From December 2026
Short answer

How does Kinnow help a retailer? A counter sale takes stock off the shelf and posts the takings to the books by itself. The drawer is counted by a person and the difference is recorded, not hidden. Drawer Watch then looks for the till or the cashier that is short again and again. Nothing is filed, paid or posted without a person.

Singapore edition, from December 2026. Nothing on this page is live in Singapore today. The ready-made setup for Retail and POS (we call it an industry pack) is already built into the product. We apply it with you when the edition opens.

Your business in one paragraph

A shop earns its money in small pieces: a few hundred bills a day across cash, card and wallets, each store with its own drawer, its own discounts and its own shelf. The books, the stock register and the bank statement are usually written up later by someone who was not at the counter, and the gap between the counter and the books is where shrinkage and arguments live. Three things keep a retail owner awake.

The drawer that is short, and nobody knows when

A shortage found at the end of the week cannot be traced to a shift. By then the cashier has changed and the receipts are in a bag.

Discounts with no trail

Each store gives its own discounts. Margin leaks at the counter and shows up only as a lower month.

A shelf the books cannot see

One store stocks out while another sits on the same item. Without store-level stock, the reorder is a guess.

If one of these is your month, we can show the same three problems on a store like yours.

How your month runs on Kinnow

The month is a loop of small days. These are the steps, with the application that does each and the point where a person signs.

1Register each counter against a store and its warehouseStore managerSell (till)Counter code is fixed once set
2Open the drawer; one open shift per counterCashierSell (till)Opening is recorded with the cashier
3Ring up the basket. Kinnow prices each line and works out GST on the discounted amount; the basket is refused if the payments (cash, card, wallet) do not add upCashierSell (till)A sale over your limit waits for approval

6Count the drawer. The expected cash is worked out from the shift's own sales; the person types the countCashierSell (till)The shortage or excess is posted when the shift closes; a manager signs it off

What the industry setup puts in place

The Retail and POS setup is built into the product. It switches on 7 safeguards, 4 sign-off routes, 9 report codes, 11 Ask Kinnow starters, 9 agents and 21 step-by-step routines, such as counter to day close. The figures are starting values you change, set in Singapore dollars with you in the first week.

Agents for retail and POS

Every agent is validated with each client before it works on their books, and every output waits for a person. Also in the setup: a day-sheet cross-check and a cash-limit alert for a drawer holding more than your limit; both prepare and post nothing.

Ask us to run the day close on a week of your own bills.

Statutory and compliance calendar for a retailer (Singapore)

Kinnow prepares the working; a person confirms and files. Dates are not printed here because the authorities set and change them.

ObligationWhat Kinnow preparesWhat stays with you
GST F5 return (quarterly)Boxes 1 to 8 of the F5 (the quarterly GST return) for the quarter, from the sales invoices, credit notes and purchase bills in your books; a credit note reverses its line. Kinnow prices each line at 9 per cent, zero-rates a customer outside Singapore and carries a short exempt list. The calendar puts each return one month after its quarter ends, from the accounting cycle IRAS (Singapore's tax authority) gave you; it refuses to guess the cycle.A person reviews every box and files through the IRAS portal with their own CorpPass (the government login for businesses) login. Kinnow does not submit it. A Singapore adviser checks the box layout against the current IRAS form before the first filing.
Tax invoicesThe Singapore country setup holds the checks for a tax invoice: a valid GST registration number or UEN (company registration number), date, serial number, the GST amount, and the words Tax Invoice on a full tax invoice (a simplified invoice is allowed up to S$1,000 including GST). A reverse-charge supply that also charges GST is refused. The finance lead decides which invoices are simplified and which supplies are reverse-charge.
CPF and the Skills Development Levy (monthly)Payroll works out CPF (the Central Provident Fund contributions) by age band, on the ordinary-wage ceiling, and the employer's Skills Development Levy, on each payslip. It needs a recorded date of birth and citizen or permanent-resident status, and lists anyone it had to skip. It withholds no income tax: Singapore has no PAYE for citizens and permanent residents.Payment and submission to the CPF Board happen outside Kinnow. IR8A, IR8S, Appendix 8A (the yearly employee pay statements) and the monthly CPF submission are named in the Singapore setup as filings; Kinnow does not prepare or submit them.
ACRA annual return, AGM, estimated chargeable income, corporate tax returnTracked as registrations on your company, each with the due date Kinnow works out and a lead time before it. The AGM and the annual return are two items, because they run on two clocks. The company secretary and finance head confirm every date against ACRA (the company registrar) and IRAS, and file.

What the owner sees

These are the questions that come with the setup, ready to type into Ask Kinnow. Each answer shows its source and what it will cost before it runs. Veil, our privacy layer, holds back bank, tax and ID numbers and swaps names for placeholders before an AI call. It covers Ask Kinnow and most agents today; the rest are being added.

Questions

Does the counter keep working if the internet drops?

No. The counter needs a connection to Kinnow. What the till does guard against is a repeat: each sale carries a reference from the counter, so if the same sale is sent again after a dropped connection it is recorded once, not twice. There is no offline mode.

Does a POS sale update stock and the ledger automatically?

Yes. When a sale is completed, stock is taken off the counter's warehouse and the takings are posted to the ledger, each payment type in its own account, with the GST in the tax payable account. A void or refund reverses both. If a line is sold with no stock on hand, the sale stands and that line is skipped for stock, so a count or a correction fixes the shelf.

What happens when the drawer is short?

The shift closes anyway and the shortage is recorded against the till and cashier, and posted to Cash Shortage. Nobody can balance a drawer to the system by holding the shift open. A person signs off the shortage, and Drawer Watch looks for a pattern across shifts.

Who can void or refund a sale?

A void is possible only while that shift is still open; after the count the answer is a refund, paid out of the shift open now. Above the limit your company sets, a manager has to do it, and the approver is recorded. If no limit is set, every void and refund needs a manager.

How long to set up a store?

About two weeks to first results for one company, counted from when your Singapore edition is switched on in December 2026: masters and opening balances in the first week, agents switched on and a first close in the second. Several stores go live one at a time.

Does it work on a phone or tablet?

It works in the phone browser, and the till runs in a browser. There is no separate mobile app.
