ERP for tech / saas. Subscriptions, SLAs and revenue recognition on the same ledger.
A product company ships or it does not. Kinnow runs the roadmap, the customer contract, the support desk and the ledger as one record, so a release, a renewal and a deferred-revenue balance can be traced to each other.
From December 2026How does Kinnow help a software product company? The ready-made industry setup is called Tech Product Development. It runs the backlog, sprints and releases with test evidence required before a release ships, customer agreements as service contracts with renewal alerts, tickets on SLA plans (the response and fix times you promise a customer) that can escalate into the backlog, and revenue recognition from the contract. Nothing is billed, filed or paid without a person.
Singapore edition, from December 2026. Nothing on this page is live in Singapore today. The ready-made setup for Tech Product Development (we call it an industry pack) is already built into the product. We apply it with you when the edition opens.
Your company, in one paragraph.
You build once and sell many times. Money comes from customer agreements, annual or monthly, and from services around them, from customers in Singapore and often from abroad. Costs are engineers and the cloud bill. Deferred revenue is reconciled by hand between the billing tool and the books, and the board pack takes a week of exports from five systems.
Three things keep the founder awake: a renewal that lapsed without anyone deciding it, work started and never released, and a customer who raised the same issue four times before anyone saw the pattern.
How your month runs on Kinnow
The setup gives you three step-by-step routines that matter here: Trial to renewal, Idea to release and Campaign to trial.
| Step | Who | What Kinnow does | Where a person approves |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Campaign to trial | Growth lead | A campaign needs a named audience and is approved before it goes live; sign-ups are contacted within 48 hours. Campaigns, lead sources and the funnel by stage are reported. | A campaign over your budget limit needs approval. |
| 2. Trial to customer agreement | Sales lead | The pipeline takes a trial through activation, plan quoted, negotiation and won. A won deal becomes a service contract with value, billing cycle and end date. | A large open deal raises a warning. |
| 3. Invoice and collect | Finance | Invoices are raised in Sales on the cycle you choose. GST is priced at 9 per cent for a customer in Singapore and zero-rated for a customer abroad. The customer sees and can dispute the invoice in the customer portal. | A credit limit over your limit needs approval. |
| 4. Plan and build | Product owner | Ideas enter the backlog as epics, stories and tasks with estimates and a requirement reference, are committed to a sprint and a release, and tracked on a board. | A build over your limit needs the product owner. |
| 5. Test and ship | Engineering lead | A fix cannot be marked resolved without a test report. A release can be cut over a known gap only with a sign-off, with a named person accountable. | Release sign-off by the role you name. |
| 6. Support | Support lead | Tickets run on SLA plans with response and resolution due times; one outside a plan is blocked. A ticket can be escalated into the backlog, which parks it until the fix lands. | The customer confirms before closure. |
| 7. Renew | Customer success | Renewal alerts go out at 60, 30 and 7 days before a contract ends. A churn score flags accounts at critical risk. | Renewal needs a senior person's approval. |
| 8. Recognise revenue | Controller | A contract is split into performance obligations, a revenue schedule is built, and a monthly run posts the recognition journal and the deferred balance. | A manager activates each contract. |
| 9. Close and file | Accounts head | Twelve month-end checks, seven of which must pass. The quarter's GST F5 (the quarterly GST return) is drafted for review once the groundwork is completed before launch and filed by your team. | Books closed and the return approved by people. |
Bring one release and one renewal; we will trace each from the backlog and the contract to the ledger.
What "subscription" means in Kinnow
The page title says subscriptions, so here is exactly what that covers. A customer agreement is a service contract: value, billing cycle (annual, quarterly or monthly), start and end dates and a renewal alert. Your team raises the invoices through Sales, and the revenue schedule recognises the contract ratably or by milestone.
Built
Service contracts with renewal alerts, invoices on any cycle, customer portal, revenue contracts with performance obligations and a deferred balance, GST priced per line.
Not built
A plan catalogue, usage metering, automatic recurring invoice runs, and dashboards for monthly and annual recurring revenue (MRR, ARR) or cohort churn. Do not buy Kinnow expecting a billing system; expect a ledger that knows your contracts.
What the Tech Product Development setup puts in place
Five sign-off routes come with it (build, campaign budget, journal, credit limit and release sign-off), with seventeen processes, eleven Ask Kinnow starters and nine reports, among them the project register, ticket register, campaign register, funnel by stage and requirement traceability. Every limit is set in Singapore dollars with you in the first week.
| Limit | Effect | Why it is there |
|---|---|---|
| Build commitment over your limit | Product owner approves | A large build commits the roadmap |
| Issue resolved without a test report | Blocked | A fix nobody tested is not a fix |
| Release without full test evidence | Needs release sign-off | A known gap is shipped on a named person's say |
| Campaign without an audience | Blocked | It reaches nobody and still spends the budget |
| Campaign budget; customer credit limit | Approval | Both are spending or lending decisions |
| Ticket outside an SLA plan | Blocked | No plan means no clock |
| Open deal value; manual journal | Warning; approval | A big deal moves the forecast; a journal moves the books |
Agents for a software product company
SLA Alert
Flags a ticket at risk of breaching from its response and resolution due times against now.
Churn Sentinel
Scores active customers nightly on a health score and flags the ones at critical risk.
Contract Renewal Watch
Sweeps contracts nearing their end date so a renewal conversation is scheduled before one lapses.
Project Risk
Warns you when a project is running late, spending ahead of the work done, or billing ahead of it, measured against the baselined bill of quantities (BoQ).
ReachCampaign Strategist
Designed to draft a campaign brief from your goal and your own data, such as gaps in your sales pipeline, customers who have gone quiet and the time of year.
Sell + AccountCollections
Drafts overdue reminders and steps them up according to how many days a payment is actually late. A person approves each reminder before it goes out.
KnowAnomaly Detector
Checks nine business figures for unusual movements whenever an administrator or your scheduler starts a scan, and lists them in the Anomaly Feed, most serious first.
A weekly Executive Digest summarises the business for the founder. Every agent is validated with each client before it works on their books, and every output waits for a person.

Statutory calendar for a product company
Alerts go out 15, 7 and 1 day before each filing on the calendar. Kinnow prepares; a person confirms and files. Dates are confirmed with IRAS (Singapore's tax authority), ACRA (the company registrar) and MOM (the Ministry of Manpower), not printed here.
| Obligation | What Kinnow prepares | What stays with you |
|---|---|---|
| GST F5 return (quarterly) | Boxes 1 to 8 of the F5 for the quarter, from the sales invoices, credit notes and purchase bills in your books; a credit note reverses its line. Kinnow prices each line at 9 per cent, zero-rates a customer outside Singapore and carries a short exempt list. The calendar puts each return one month after its quarter ends, from the accounting cycle IRAS gave you; it refuses to guess the cycle. | A person reviews every box and files through the IRAS portal with their own CorpPass (the government login for businesses) login. Kinnow does not submit it. A Singapore adviser checks the box layout against the current IRAS form before the first filing. |
| Tax invoices | The Singapore country setup holds the checks for a tax invoice: a valid GST registration number or UEN (company registration number), date, serial number, the GST amount, and the words Tax Invoice on a full tax invoice (a simplified invoice is allowed up to S$1,000 including GST). A reverse-charge supply that also charges GST is refused. | The finance lead decides which invoices are simplified and which supplies are reverse-charge. |
| InvoiceNow (e-invoicing) | An invoice to another business is marked to go through InvoiceNow, Singapore's national e-invoicing network. Kinnow builds the invoice file in the Peppol format that InvoiceNow uses, addressed by UEN (the company registration number), and refuses one with no supplier UEN. It runs against a test connection only: nothing reaches the network. | Connecting a certified access point (an approved sender on the InvoiceNow network) is a commercial step with a provider. Once delivered, an invoice cannot be cancelled; a credit note corrects it. |
| CPF and the Skills Development Levy (monthly) | Payroll works out CPF (the Central Provident Fund contributions) by age band, on the ordinary-wage ceiling, and the employer's Skills Development Levy, on each payslip. It needs a recorded date of birth and citizen or permanent-resident status, and lists anyone it had to skip. It withholds no income tax: Singapore has no PAYE for citizens and permanent residents. | Payment and submission to the CPF Board happen outside Kinnow. IR8A, IR8S, Appendix 8A (the yearly employee pay statements) and the monthly CPF submission are named in the Singapore setup as filings; Kinnow does not prepare or submit them. |
| Work pass quota (if you hire foreign workers) | Tracked as a registration with a monthly review date. The quota is a ratio against local headcount, not a filing. | The HR head owns the numbers. The foreign worker levy is not built. |
| ACRA annual return, AGM, estimated chargeable income, corporate tax return | Tracked as registrations on your company, each with the due date Kinnow works out and a lead time before it. The AGM and the annual return are two items, because they run on two clocks. | The company secretary and finance head confirm every date against ACRA and IRAS, and file. |

Questions
Can Kinnow run our subscription billing?
Not as a billing system. A customer agreement is a service contract with a billing cycle, end date and renewal alerts, and invoices are raised through Sales. Plans, metering and MRR dashboards are not built.
Can it recognise subscription revenue?
Yes. A revenue contract is split into performance obligations, a revenue schedule is built, and a monthly run posts the recognition journal and the deferred balance. A manager activates each contract.
We sell to customers outside Singapore. What happens to GST?
Kinnow zero-rates a customer whose country is outside Singapore and applies the standard rate to a Singapore customer. Whether a given supply qualifies for zero-rating is a decision for your finance lead. Invoices stay in your company currency; a second invoicing currency is not built.
Can it replace our issue tracker?
For light use. Epics, stories, sprints, releases and components are there, with test evidence required before a fix is resolved. Source code and CI/CD stay in your DevOps tools.
How are SLA breaches handled?
Each ticket sits on an SLA plan with response and resolution due times. Kinnow blocks a ticket outside a plan, and an alert flags tickets near breach.
How long does set-up take?
About two weeks to first results for one company, counted from when your Singapore edition is switched on in December 2026: masters and opening balances in the first week, agents switched on and a first close in the second.
Does it work on a phone?
It works in the phone browser. There is no separate mobile app.
