Mismatch Detector agent
Finds mismatches between your returns and your ledger, and in GSTR-2B, and flags them for a person before a return is filed.
Validated with each clientWhat does Mismatch Detector replace? The work of a compliance / tax executive: reconcile GSTR-2B and returns against the ledger. Finds mismatches between your returns and your ledger, and in GSTR-2B, and flags them for a person before a return is filed.
Shows why
It shows its reasons and how sure it is on every draft. When it is not sure, it only brings the item to your attention.
Waits for you
Nothing is filed, paid or posted until a person approves it.
Gets reviewed
Every approval and correction is recorded, so you can see how it performs on your own books.
A day with the Mismatch Detector agent
Take a distributor with a hundred purchase bills in a month. The GSTR-2B (the return-side list of tax credits your suppliers have reported) rarely lines up with the books on its own. This is how the check runs.
- Your GSTR-2B for the month becomes available. Where the connection to the GST portal has been set up with you for a GST number, Kinnow downloads it, or you can ask for a fresh download. The agent is built for the period after the 14th.
- It lines up your purchase bills against the 2B. Supplier GST number, bill number and amount, bill by bill.
- Each bill gets one of four outcomes. Exact match (credit can be claimed); amount within 2% (claimed, flagged for a look); supplier has not filed (held, supplier to be chased); supplier filed next month (carried forward).
- It ranks what is left by tax credit at risk. The biggest amounts come first, each with a reason it did not match and a suggested action.
- People deal with the short list. The purchase team chases suppliers; the accounts team books missing bills, reviews differences, and decides the lines you have to accept or reject.
- The return waits. An Indian GSTR-1 or GSTR-3B cannot be marked filed in Kinnow until a complete 2B check exists for that period. Your adviser files on the portal.
See your own GSTR-2B against your own purchase bills. Send us one month of both.
What it reads and what it hands back
| What it reads | What it hands back | Where it lands |
|---|---|---|
| Purchase bills from Buy (supplier GST number, bill number, tax, amount) | Matched, near-match, not-filed and timing outcomes for each bill | The GSTR-2B reconciliation screen, "only what needs a human" |
| The GSTR-2B you downloaded for the period | Totals of credit you can claim and credit at risk | The same screen, with "What to do next" actions |
| The result of each run | A saved reconciliation for the period | Compliance records; the filing step checks that one exists |
What a person decides
You approve
- What to do with each flagged line, before any return is prepared
- Which near-matches (within 2%) you accept
You set
- The GST numbers and the connection used to download the 2B
- Who in purchase and accounts handles chasing, booking and review
It never does
- Nothing is filed, paid or posted without a person.
- Correct a bill or a return by itself: it finds and flags only
- File on the GST portal
Ask Kinnow about this
Questions a finance head might type. Ask Kinnow shows its source and cost before it runs.
- "How much input credit is at risk for September?" The at-risk amount from the latest reconciliation, with the bills behind it.
- "Which suppliers have not filed their returns?" Suppliers whose bills are held, ready to chase.
- "Which bills matched only within 2%?" The near-matches you need to accept or query.
- "Is the 2B check done for this month?" Whether a complete check exists, which the filing step needs.
Ask us to run a month of your 2B against your purchase bills.

Questions
What does the Mismatch Detector agent do?
Finds mismatches between your returns and your ledger, and in GSTR-2B, and flags them for a person before a return is filed.
Does Mismatch Detector correct the mismatches?
No. It finds them and flags them for a person before a return is filed.
Does Mismatch Detector get better with use?
Kinnow measures it rather than assuming it. Each time you approve or reject, the result is recorded against how sure the agent said it was, so you can see on your own books whether its confidence can be trusted. Your corrections are kept as feedback.
How is it paid for?
It is part of your agent pack. There are no per-user seats.
How close does an amount have to be to count as a near-match?
Within 2%, with the supplier's GST number matching and the same month. Kinnow claims it and flags it so a person can look.
Does Kinnow chase the suppliers?
A supplier-chasing agent routes the not-filed cases to the purchase team's queue. A person sends the message.
