Compose agent
Drafts a monthly management review or a customer statement from your records, and exports Word, Excel or PowerPoint copies. PDF is arranged at set-up.
Validated with each clientWhat does Compose replace? The work of a finance executive: drafting the monthly management review and customer statements. Drafts a monthly management review or a customer statement from your records, and exports Word, Excel or PowerPoint copies. PDF is arranged at set-up.
Shows why
Every draft comes with its reasons and how sure the agent is. If it is unsure, it only offers a suggestion.
Waits for you
It does not file, pay or post anything until a person says so.
Gets reviewed
Your approvals and corrections are recorded, so you can see how well it does on your books.
A day with Compose
Think of a finance head at a 60-person services firm who has to send the board a management review on the 8th of every month. This is how Compose fits into that week.
- The month is closed and the request is typed. In the Create panel on the right of Documents (Vault), the finance head types one line, such as "Monthly management review for September, for the board".
- Compose asks, then plays back. It asks up to seven short questions with the answer already filled in, says in a paragraph what it understood, and lists the files and book figures it may use. You tick or untick each one. You only see files you can already open.
- You see the outline and the cost first. Compose proposes the sections and shows the exact credit cost of writing before anything is spent. Planning itself works with standard questions even with no AI step.
- It drafts from your books. Every figure is read from your books under your own access. The AI never types a number. Anything Compose needs but does not have shows as a gap marked "needs your input", which you fill in or leave out.
- A second person reviews. The author cannot approve their own file. A reviewer opens it from the list of other people's open drafts, compares each figure with the books as they stand today, and either approves or sends it back with a comment. Approving locks the file.
- You take it away in the format you need. The approved file can be copied to Word, Excel (figures arrive as real numbers) or PowerPoint, and is filed in Vault. A deck carries your company's colour. PDF is arranged at set-up. Nothing is sent from Kinnow.
What it reads and what it hands back
Compose reads only what the person asking is allowed to see.
| What it reads | What it hands back | Where it lands |
|---|---|---|
| Figures from your books: revenue, expenses, receivables ageing, open anomaly count, and net profit if you may see it | Each figure with its as-of date, or "Not recorded" when the books cannot say | The draft, filed in Vault |
| Files you tick, only ones you can already open | Sentences that quote or point to the file | The draft |
| Your answers to its questions, and the gaps it shows | A draft that says plainly what is missing | The draft, marked DRAFT until the gaps are closed |
| Your own past edits and, within limits, the opening of your own past decks | Short notes on tone, usual length and the sections you add or drop | A page listing every note and what it cost, with a switch to turn learning off |
| The approved file | Word, Excel and PowerPoint copies, with no new AI call | Filed in Vault and recorded on the file |

What a person decides
Compose drafts. People decide.
- What goes in. You choose which files and which book figures Compose may use, and whether the optional writing step is used. That step is off by default and shows its credit cost first.
- Who approves. Approving needs its own permission, which is never given along with permission to write. The author cannot approve their own file, and a figure the books contradict stops the approval.
- What cannot be approved. A file with open gaps downloads as a DRAFT and cannot be approved. A figure that has changed since the draft is shown as changed, never quietly updated.
- What it never does. It never types a number, never sends, shares or publishes a file, and never learns facts. Nothing is filed, paid or posted without a person.
Ask Kinnow about Compose
Ask Kinnow answers from records you are allowed to see, and shows its source before it runs. Questions an owner might type while a draft is open:
- "What was revenue and net profit last month, against the month before?" Shows the two figures with their dates, so you can check what Compose put in the draft.
- "Which customers owe us for more than 60 days?" Shows the receivables ageing the statement or review reads from.
- "Find the board deck we sent the bank last quarter." Searches the files in Vault that you can open and points to the file.
Ask us to run Compose on your numbers, with your reviewer approving the result.
Works with
Compose lives in Vault. It pairs with Ask Kinnow for questions about the same records, with Brand Guardian for checking outgoing assets against brand rules, and with the capability Proposals and board packs from your data.
Questions
What does the Compose agent do?
Drafts a monthly management review or a customer statement from your records, and exports Word, Excel or PowerPoint copies. PDF is arranged at set-up.
Does Compose act on its own?
No. Compose hands back a draft review or statement based on your records, and a person approves before anything is posted, filed, sent or paid.
Does Compose learn?
Yes, but only style and structure, never facts. It notes your usual tone and length and the sections you add or drop, learning from your own edits and, within a monthly limit, from the opening of your own past decks. One page lists everything learned and what it cost. You can delete a note or switch learning off.
How is it paid for?
It is part of your agent pack, and there is no charge per user.
Can Compose put a number in a report that is not in my books?
No. The AI is not allowed to type a number. Figures are read from your books, and a draft is checked so that no digit appears outside a figure taken from them. If the books cannot give a figure, the draft says "Not recorded".
What happens when I refresh a draft after the books change?
Compose reads the books again and keeps the words, at no credit cost. The old version is kept as it stood. If the file was already approved, the refreshed file starts as a new draft and needs approving again.
