Ask Kinnow agent
Answers questions from your documents and from the records of the applications you use, and only shows what the person asking is allowed to see.
Validated with each clientWhat does Ask Kinnow replace? The work of an MIS or data analyst: pulling a report or digging out an answer for a colleague, one question at a time. Answers questions from your documents and from the records of the applications you use, and only shows what the person asking is allowed to see.
Shows why
Every draft comes with its reasons and how sure the agent is. If it is unsure, it only offers a suggestion.
Waits for you
It does not file, pay or post anything until a person says so.
Gets reviewed
Your approvals and corrections are recorded, so you can see how well it does on your books.
A day with Ask Kinnow
A typical day for an owner, finance head or sales manager who would otherwise ask an analyst for a report.
- You type a question where you are working. On any screen you can ask in plain English. When you ask from the Account screen, for example, it starts from invoices, bills and receipts. From the global search box it starts from everything you are allowed to see.
- Kinnow shows the cost and the source first. Searching your records is free. If you want a written answer from the AI, Kinnow shows what it will cost before it runs, and which records and documents it will read.
- It reads only what you may see. The records and documents it looks at are filtered to your role and branch before the AI sees any of them. Payroll is limited to the people allowed to see payroll.
- Veil protects the details. Sensitive details in documents are screened and held back before the AI reads them. This covers Ask Kinnow and most agents today.
- The answer comes with its evidence. You get the answer, the documents and records it drew on, and two or three follow-up questions you are likely to want next.
- You widen or narrow, and then act. You can widen the search to everything you can see, or narrow it to one customer. Any action you decide on, such as a reminder or a draft, is made by you or goes through its own approval.

What it reads and what it hands back
| What it reads | What it hands back | Where it lands |
|---|---|---|
| Your documents in Vault, within what you may open | A written answer with the documents it came from | The Ask panel, on any screen |
| Summaries of your sales, purchase, stock and people records, within your role and branch | Figures and counts, with the records behind them | The same answer, with the source named |
| The screen you are on, and any customer you have focused | A narrower starting point for the search, which you can widen | Scope shown at the top of the answer |
| Your question | Two or three suggested follow-ups | Below the answer |
What a person decides
Nothing is filed, paid or posted without a person. For Ask Kinnow that means:
- You decide whether to spend on a question. The cost is shown first. You can stay with free search.
- You decide what to do with an answer. An answer is not an instruction. Anything it suggests goes through the normal approval for that action.
- Your administrator decides who sees what. Ask Kinnow cannot show a person anything their role could not already open.
- It never does these things. It does not file, pay, post or send. It does not reach outside your company's data unless a separate research step is used, which asks you to confirm first and produces a draft only.
Ask Kinnow about this
These are the kinds of question owners type. Which records are open to Ask Kinnow for each one is confirmed on your data in the demo.
| You could ask | The answer shows |
|---|---|
| Are we keeping the delivery terms in our supply agreement? | The contract clause, the actual delivery record and where they differ, with both sources named. |
| Which customers are overdue by more than 60 days? | A list with amounts, drawn from your sales records, and the figures it was built from. |
| Which lease agreement mentions the CAM charge for this shop? | The document, the clause and a note on how many documents it did and did not search. |
| How many lease agreements do we have on file? | A count worked out by Kinnow from your documents, shown with its source. The AI may repeat the count but is not allowed to calculate one. |

Works with
Ask Kinnow belongs to Vault. These pages sit closest to it:
- Compose: turns an answer into a draft document, deck or sheet.
- Ask your business anything: the capability, with the sample screen.
- Keep sensitive details away from AI: how details are held back.
- Never a confident wrong number: how figures are kept traceable.
- Veil: the term, in plain words.
Questions
What does the Ask Kinnow agent do?
Answers questions from your documents and from the records of the applications you use, and only shows what the person asking is allowed to see.
Does Ask Kinnow act on its own?
No. Ask Kinnow answers from your documents and records, showing where each answer came from, and only what the person asking may see, and a person approves before anything is posted, filed, sent or paid.
Does Ask Kinnow learn?
Yes. Each time you approve or reject an answer, Kinnow records it against how sure the agent said it was, so you can see how it is doing on your books. Your corrections are kept as feedback.
How is it paid for?
It is part of your agent pack, and there is no charge per user.
Can it answer from my accounting-software or spreadsheet data?
It answers from what is in Kinnow: your Documents (Vault) documents and the records of the applications you use. Data from older software comes in through migration first, which we plan with you.
What if the answer is wrong?
Every answer shows its sources, so you can open them and check. If you correct or reject an answer, that is recorded against how sure Kinnow said it was.
