Never a confident wrong number

When Kinnow can't read or calculate something, it says so; no zeros, blanks or guesses posing as fact.

Short answer

What does Honesty rules do? Decisions rest on numbers you can trust, and gaps show up before they become audit findings or wrong payments.

How it works

These rules are applied across reports, registers and payroll. A failed load shows 'couldn't load', not 0. A step nobody is watching says 'not monitored'. Currency is never guessed. Payroll will not run without the statutory details it needs, and it names each person affected. The 'nothing needs you' message for the morning appears only after your list has loaded. An unexpected error screen shows a reference you can give to support.

The detail that makes it real

Kinnow is built under 67 numbered gate rules, covering data integrity, money and dates, references and reports, because the costliest errors are the ones where the totals still add up.

Step by step

  1. Kinnow tries to read or calculate the thing. A report, a register, a payroll line, a currency, a check on a bill.
  2. If it works, you see the figure. The figure comes with how much it covers where that matters, for example a past-due total that says it was judged on a stated share of the book.
  3. If it fails to load, it says so. The screen says it could not load, and often adds that this is not the same as there being nothing. A failed load is never drawn as a zero or an empty list.
  4. If it cannot decide, it names the gap. A person who cannot be assessed is listed with the reason. Something nobody is watching, such as a tool with no service interval, says Not monitored. A currency or an account type is left unset, not guessed.
  5. If it must stop, it stops and says why. Payroll will not produce a payslip with a statutory deduction missing. It names each person it cannot handle and carries on with the rest.
  6. You can follow up. An unexpected error screen shows a reference you can give to support.

What you see on screen

Examples of the wording you will meet. These are real messages in the product.

Screen or buttonWhat it shows or does
Failed load"We couldn't load the results, so the register may not be empty." And on other screens: "Couldn't check this bill's prices. That is not the same as the prices being fine."
Checks that did not run"Couldn't check for late deliveries. That is not the same as none being late." The same wording appears for supplier claims, recall summaries and stock count differences.
Not monitoredOn the tooling screen: tools with no service interval set say Not monitored, with the line that nothing is watching them and that this is not the same as being in good order.
Partial coverA past-due total says it was judged on a stated share of the book, because the rest carries no due date. A receipts total says how many bills have a payment matched.
Skipped, with a reasonPayroll and the Wage code check list people who could not be assessed, with the reason, and never count them as compliant.
Unranked, not wrongWhen Kinnow cannot rank mentors for a venture, the list says it is unranked and you can still choose.
Certificates"Nothing here means we could not read them, not that there are none."

Is it available today?

Yes, it is live.

Does this mean Kinnow's numbers are always right?

No. It means Kinnow tells you when it could not read or calculate something, instead of showing a zero, a blank or a guess. A calculated figure is still only as good as the records behind it.

What does Not monitored mean?

That nothing is watching that item, for example a tool with no service interval set. It is not the same as being in good order.

What happens in payroll when someone's details are missing?

Kinnow does not produce a payslip with a statutory deduction missing. It names the person and the reason and carries on with the rest of the run.

What should I do if I see a zero I do not trust?

Check whether the screen says it covers part of the data. If it does not, tell us. We treat that as a fault.
