How it works
Material sent to job workers stays in your stock, and Kinnow reconciles what was sent, used and scrapped. It tracks how long material has been out, flagging items at 180 days and those past the 365-day GST limit. Large deliveries trigger quality checks; a failure raises a defect report with rework, scrap or return. Pass rates feed your supplier scores.

Step by step
Here is a month for a fabrication unit that sends castings to two job workers for machining and receives raw material from a handful of suppliers.
- Raise the job-work order. A planner lists the job worker, the warehouse the material leaves and each material line. The order starts as a draft and nothing leaves yet.
- Dispatch on a delivery challan. The material leaves the warehouse but stays in your stock, shown as held at the job worker, valued and not available for sale. The clock on its age starts.
- Receive what comes back. For each line the stores person records how much was consumed into the output, how much was scrapped and how much came back unprocessed, plus the finished item received. Kinnow works out what is still out: sent less consumed, scrapped and returned.
- Watch the age of what is still out. The ageing view lists open orders, oldest dispatch first. Material out for 180 days goes on watch, and material out past 365 days is flagged for the GST limit. A planner chases the job worker or short-closes the order.
- Inspect what arrives. A large delivery creates an inspection. The inspector records a sample size and a result: pass, fail or conditional.
- A failure raises a non-conformance report. The quality head records how serious it is and decides rework, scrap, use as is or return to the supplier. A person approves the outcome.
- Inspection results update the supplier scorecard. Pass rate and reject rate by supplier and period feed the buying team's supplier choice.
