Lone-worker alarms that escalate on their own

An SOS or missed safe-arrival check-in alerts your chosen contacts by SMS and email and escalates if nobody responds.

Live in part
Short answer

What does Field Safety SOS do? Duty of care for field staff, with a record of who was alerted and when.

How it works

Anyone can raise an SOS or check in, and no access setting can stop someone in danger from doing so. An alert tells your chosen contacts straight away, by SMS for a critical event and by email, opens an incident record, and goes to the next person if nobody acknowledges it in time. Where your industry setup sets a safe-arrival time, Kinnow raises a missed check-in by itself. Every message sent, and every failure, is recorded.

The detail that makes it real

Each alert records how it was sent, how many people were told, how far it escalated and why any message failed.

Step by step

  1. Name who gets the alert. Your company sets the safety recipients once. They get the SMS and email when something is raised. If none is set, Kinnow falls back to your company's admin contact and records on the event that the control room was never set up.
  2. A worker raises an SOS, or misses a check-in. Anyone signed in can raise an SOS or check in. No access setting can stop that. If your industry setup defines a safe-arrival time and a worker has not checked in by then, Kinnow raises a missed check-in by itself, once for that job.
  3. Kinnow tells your people straight away. An SMS goes out for a critical event, together with an email. Kinnow opens an incident in the service desk and shows on the event how many people were told and by which channel.
  4. Someone acknowledges it. A person in the control room opens the Safety screen and presses Acknowledge. That stops the escalation.
  5. If nobody does, it escalates. Kinnow checks every minute. If nobody has acknowledged inside the time your industry setup allows, it moves to the next tier and tells the next people.
  6. Someone resolves it, and the record stays. Pressing Resolve closes the event. The event keeps what was sent, to how many, how far it escalated, and why any message failed.

Notified and escalated linesUnder each event: how many recipients were told and by which channels, whether it escalated because nobody acknowledged in time, and whether an incident was raised in the service desk.
Reaction failedIf a message could not be sent, the event shows what Kinnow could not do and why.
Log an eventA form to record a safety event reported to the control room: an SOS, panic, lone worker, missed check-in, route deviation, over speed, unexpected stop or device unreachable. It takes the person, the job, a description and a location. It warns that saving notifies the configured recipients but does not place a call.
Run sweep nowRuns the minute-by-minute check on demand and reports how many events were escalated and how many missed check-ins were raised.
