Who is on site right now
A live visitor and contractor register built to be trusted in an emergency.
LiveWhat does Gate do? Replace the paper visitor book and give the fire marshal a list that can't silently drop a name.
How it works
Gate lists everyone who is checked in on site. Because it doubles as the evacuation list, a failed load shows an error, never an empty list. Overdue visitors stay visible with a flag. No paging or search can hide a name, and check-out leans towards over-reporting.
'Nobody is on site' and 'we couldn't read the register' are treated as opposite facts and never look the same.
Step by step
- A visitor is expected. A pass is issued: who is coming, which site, who they are here to see, and the time it is valid from and until.
- The visitor arrives and is checked in. Reception checks them in. Someone already on site cannot be checked in twice.
- Their entry records the induction position. Each entry records whether an induction was checked at the moment of entry. Today it says plainly that it was not checked.
- The register shows who is inside. "On site now" lists everyone checked in and not yet out, in one plain list.
- A pass runs out while the visitor is inside. The name stays on the list with an Overdue mark. Somebody has to go and find them.
- In an emergency, the fire marshal opens the list. At the muster point, every name is read out and answered.
What you see on screen
- On site now. One list of everyone inside, per site, with no pages and no search.
- Overdue. A mark on the row for a visitor past the end of their pass. Not a filter, so they stay in the list.
- Name, type and host. Each row shows who they are, whether visitor or contractor, the site and who they are visiting. If a name cannot be read it shows a handle you can look up, never a blank.
- A load failure. A plain error. If the register cannot be read, the screen says that, and never shows an empty list.
Who uses it
| Who | When | What they do |
|---|---|---|
| Receptionist or security guard | At every arrival and exit | Issues passes, checks people in and out. |
| Host employee | When expecting a visitor | Is the person the visitor is here to see, named on the pass. |
| Fire marshal or safety officer | In a drill or an emergency | Reads the On site now list at the muster point. |
| Facilities head | As needed | Checks for overdue passes and people never checked out. |

Questions
What is Gate in Kinnow?
A live visitor and contractor register built to be trusted in an emergency.
What changes for the business?
Replace the paper visitor book and give the fire marshal a list that can't silently drop a name.
Is it available today?
Yes, it is live.
Why is there no search on the On site now list?
Because the list is read out in an emergency. A search box or paging is a way to miss a name. The list is plain on purpose.
What if the register cannot be loaded?
The screen shows an error that says so. It never shows an empty list in that case, because "nobody is on site" and "we could not read the register" are very different facts.
