One contract from sale to annual maintenance
An approved sales order opens the project, and at handover a draft maintenance contract is created for a person to complete.
LiveWhat does Sale-to-AMC contract continuum do? One contract follows the job from the approved order to the annual maintenance agreement, so the terms are not typed again and no second copy drifts out of date.
How it works
An approved sales order creates a project. At handover, a draft of the annual maintenance or operations contract is raised automatically, and your contract manager completes it. The contract holds the commercial terms: what each side must do, how the price rises, renewal, and when revenue is counted. Maintenance and support teams both work from that same contract, not copies. A support ticket that turns out to be billable project work can be linked to a project deliverable.
Kinnow found one maintenance contract stored in three places with nothing comparing them; now there is one, and the move listed every record it skipped.
Step by step
- The customer's sales order is approved. Approving the order in Sell opens a project for it, scoped to the right company. This is the start of the job.
- The project runs. Work goes ahead under Projects and contracting: snags are raised, and a handover packet is prepared with the as-built drawings, test certificates, operation and maintenance manual, warranty and statutory approvals.
- Handover needs a signed packet. Handover is refused without a signed packet, unless someone uses the named exception. The defect-liability period starts when the handover is signed.
- The maintenance contract appears as a draft. At handover, Kinnow raises the annual maintenance or operations contract in Contracts. It is a draft, linked to the project, and it is raised once however many times the handover is replayed.
- A person completes the terms. The contract manager adds the fee, the term and the escalation, then signs. The contract holds what each side must do, how the price rises, renewal, and when revenue is counted.
- Everyone works from that one contract. Maintenance holds the assets and visit schedules, Service holds the tickets and coverage, and both point to this contract rather than keeping their own copy of the terms.

What you see on screen
These are the screens along the way. They sit in Sell, Projects and contracting, and Contracts.
| Screen or button | What it shows or does |
|---|---|
| Project handover | The handover packet with the assets, the packet issue and signature, open snags and the defect-liability period. Retention can be released after it. |
| Contracts | Counterparty, Reference, Type, Value, Status and Ends, with a search box and a status filter. A New contract button drafts one on the same lifecycle as leases. |
| Draft maintenance contract | Created from the project, with the project as its source. Fee, term and escalation are completed here. |
| Service coverage | A service ticket shows whether the unit is under warranty or contract, using the same contract. |

Questions
What is Sale-to-AMC contract continuum in Kinnow?
An approved sales order opens the project, and at handover a draft maintenance contract is created for a person to complete.
What changes for the business?
One contract follows the job from the approved order to the annual maintenance agreement, so the terms are not typed again and no second copy drifts out of date.
Is it available today?
Yes, it is live.
Is the maintenance contract created automatically?
Yes, as a draft, when the project is handed over. A person then completes the fee, term and escalation and signs it. It is not created twice if the handover is replayed.
Why is the contract still a draft?
Because the fee, term and escalation are commercial decisions. Kinnow does not make them up. They are agreed with the customer and entered by your contract manager.
Does service work from a copy of the contract?
No. Service and maintenance hold a reference to the one contract. This is on purpose, after an earlier setup held three copies of the same agreement that drifted apart.
Who owns what once the contract exists?
Contracts own the commercial terms: obligations, escalation, renewal and revenue recognition. Maintenance owns delivery: assets, visit schedules and work orders. Service owns the support case: tickets, service promises and coverage.
