Screens in your industry's own words
A distributor sees 'retailers' and 'beat calls'; a hotel sees 'guests'. Same system, their own words.
LiveWhat does Speaks Your Industry do? Faster adoption: teams recognise their own business on screen from day one, with no customisation project.
How it works
Each of the 15 industries with a ready setup has its own words built in. Reports rename their columns to suit the business, and the lead form changes its buyer types, lead sources, fields and contact rules. If your group runs a distributor and a manufacturer, each business sees its own language, while group-wide views stay neutral.
Kinnow covers 19 industries, and 15 of them come with a ready setup that includes their own words. The words are set company by company, so a group with several industries never shows one business the other's words.
Step by step
Here is how it works for a trading group that runs a distribution company and, under the same account, a small manufacturing unit.
- You choose the industry for each company. When a company is set up, it is given its industry. The group account can hold companies from different industries, each with its own.
- Menus take the industry's names. The same area that is called Sell for a manufacturer reads Secondary Sales for a distributor, Bookings for a hotel and Fundraising and Donors for a charity. Areas the industry never uses are tucked away.
- Lists and records follow. What is Orders to one company is Retailer Orders to a distributor, Reservations to a hotel and Pledges to a charity. The customer overview becomes Outlet 360, Guest 360 or Donor 360.
- The lead form changes. Buyer types, lead sources, which fields are shown and whether a phone number or an email is needed all follow the industry. A hotel offers walk-ins and travel agents; a charity offers appeals and foundations.
- Reports rename their columns. When you open a report for a company, its column headings use that company's words. A column Kinnow has no special word for keeps its normal heading.
- Group-wide views stay neutral. A report that spans both companies uses the standard names, so neither company's words are applied to the other's figures.

What you see on screen
The change is visible in the places your team uses every day.
| Where | What you see |
|---|---|
| Left-hand menu | Area and sub-area names in the industry's words, in the order that industry uses them most. Areas it does not use are hidden. |
| Customer overview | Outlet 360 for a distributor, Guest 360 for a hotel, Client 360 for a CA practice, Donor 360 for a charity. |
| New lead form | Industry buyer types and lead sources. A hotel sees travel agent and group booking; a charity sees foundation and community group. |
| Reports | Column headings use the company's words. A distributor reads retailers and beat calls, not sites and demands. |
| Group dashboards | Standard names, because they cover companies in more than one industry. |
Who uses it
| Who | When | What they do with it |
|---|---|---|
| Everyone on the team | Every day | Reads screens in the words of their own trade, which cuts down the 'what does this mean here' questions in the first weeks. |
| Owner or group finance head | When comparing companies | Uses group-wide views in standard names and company views in each company's words. |
| Whoever sets up the account | At sign-up | Picks the industry for each company. The words come with it, so there is no separate customisation project. |
