Tax rate changes applied without an upgrade
Kinnow drafts official GST rate changes from the notification and applies them once Kinnow's team approves, with no upgrade needed.
LiveWhat does Regulatory rate-change monitor do? GST rate changes reach you without waiting for an upgrade, and suppliers whose registration lapsed are flagged before you pay them.
How it works
A person on the Kinnow team loads the government notification. Kinnow reads out the changes, compares each with the shared rate table and drafts the update. Once a person at Kinnow approves it, it takes effect straight away, with no restart or new release; Kinnow never applies a change on its own. If a supplier's GST registration is suspended or cancelled, their open orders and bills are flagged until it is restored.
Supplier certificates are checked each time they are viewed, so a renewal made this morning counts at once, with no overnight wait.
Step by step
- A new GST rate is notified. A government notification changes the rate on some goods or services from a stated date. A person on the Kinnow team loads that notification into Kinnow.
- Kinnow reads out the changes. For each change it picks out the goods or service code, the old rate, the new rate and the date it starts.
- It compares each change with the rate it holds today. A change that only repeats the rate already on file is dropped, so a misread cannot create a false change.
- It drafts a proposal. The proposal sits on the side. Nothing in your invoices moves while it is only a proposal.
- A person at Kinnow approves it. Once approved, the new rate is added with its start date and Kinnow starts using it at once. No restart and no new release.
- Your invoices follow. Tax on documents dated from the start date uses the new rate. Your accountant still confirms that the notified date and scope fit your own case.
What you see on screen
- Rate changes. There is no rate-change screen on your side. You see the result as the rate Kinnow applies to tax lines on your invoices.
- Verify with GSTN. On a supplier or customer record in India, a button beside the tax ID checks the registration. A status of Suspended or Cancelled appears as a warning beside the field.
- Flags on open orders and bills. If a supplier's registration is suspended, cancelled or inactive, their open purchase orders and bills are flagged. When the registration is restored, the flags clear.
